Suicide Cleanup
Mattresses It becomes easy for an experienced cleaner to become complacent around family members. Exposure to this type of work becomes like any other type of work. So it remains part of a suicide cleanup practitioner's work to employ the correct demeanor willingly, consistently. Drug Addiction as Indirect Suicide Sometimes during suicide cleanup we see the objects of drug addiction. Although indirect suicide may not have shown itself to unskilled observers nearby the suicidal behavior. a variety of terms help to clarify this behavior. Hidden suicide, latent suicide, covert suicide, and indirect self-destruction -- self-murder. What researchers find is a lack of full awareness of the consequences of risky behavior. The onset of a gradual, self-destructive behavior rationalized, intellectualized, or denied becomes a day-to-day self-rationalization. Open discussion of the presenting problem, addiction, seldom occurs, in contrast to "cries for help" found in direct suicide. Long suffering, martyr behavior often appears; a secondary gain from behavior obtained by evoking sympathy and expressing hostility as part of their behavior occurs. Their deaths arrive as "accidental," when in truth their deaths were prepared on an indirect path to self-dist ruction. Many people seem to move toward death without ever becoming fully aware of their self-imposed ignorance. We often see this daily in a cigarette smoker's behavior. In fact, their ritualized smoking routines occur without conscious awareness. This behavior reminds one of shoe tying. It takes place without thought or awareness. What these suicides find in life are prolonged periods of insecurity. A wish for death at the center of their existence brings hope of an eternal existence free of life's insecurities. "All death is suicide," wrote Freud. Whether by an airplane crash, heart attack, or an evident suicide method. A hasty transformation to a null state, at least, awaits in suicide. We find that every attempt at suicide suggests and experience approaching death. Young people present a bland front, "take it or leave it," to conceal self-destructive impulse. We note that some writers believe that these impulses arises from early, painful experiences during child rearing days. Perhaps parental rejection or punishment created free-floating anxieties. Many people who have been deprived of their emotional well-being early in life seek out life-threatening experiences. These we see in thrill seeking, In this way emotional experiences bring about something novel and exciting. Being "scared to death" gives us an idea of what they seek. Young people often learn about life-and-death struggles on the farm, hunting trips, or story telling by parents. Some learn by monster stories, horror movies, books, and other popular cultural artifacts. When suicide occurs we naturally look around for answers. Parents blame their parenting or they go into denial about their involvement. They steal blame their selves. Parents cannot help doing so. The realities of death have age-old practices designed to defeat death anxieties. Religion for one provides a structure for handling overwhelming anxiety of life in its apparent destructiveness. The idea of being born again associated with the reality of death receives powerful acceptance in family circles. Conveniently through the stories of Jesus Christ we find ancient Egypt's pharos rebirth powers more democratically passed along to the masses, slaves and kings. Some would call religious beliefs "opiates" in a psychological sense. Whether or not this stands cannot be known. What we do know is that as early as 1967, drug abuse became a major social problem in the United States. The use of phencyclidine (PCP) showed the width and depth of this subculture event. Known as the "PeaCe Pill) (PCP) cultural icons like Timothy Leary preached peace and love and drugs. Also known as "angel dust," it can be injected intravenously as well as snorted or taken in pill form. Like LSD, mescaline, and psilocybine, its effects gave the user an impression of a carefree life. At least while it remained in the user's blood stream. The lethal effects of this and similar drugs results in near-lethal and lethal side effects. High blood pressure, extreme temperature, seizures, coma and cardiac arrest challenged the medical community to no end. In the 1970s, PCP became the most common and emergency overdose drug. Severe anxiety arises from using this type of drug. Feelings of progressive depersonalization, isolation, and depression may last for hours. For a young person experiencing suicide ideation, such experiences present lethal challenges.
